Bringing Bi-Directionality to Climate Work

A BIT ABOUT THIS PROJECT

What Is GreenHacks?

GreenHacks is a project designed to provide neighborhood-friendly

accessible environmental tips and a climate advocacy resource.

The tips are designed to bring together individuals from all

walks of life and to empower them to scale their action.

Where We're From

Born, raised, and living in California!

What Do the Resources Look Like?

They range from images to blog posts and job alerts.

They also range in difficulty; tips are designed to spark ideas and curiosities.

They can be easy to implement in daily life or may take a more concerted effort.

May we mitigate and adapt

to anthropogenic climate change together.

We're at the junction between scalable government action and personal responsibility. Both need each other.

Our
Mission

GreenHacks is committed to advancing climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience by providing resources and inspiring personal action that relates back to government-scale impact at every level - local, state, federal, and international.

Our
Values

GreenHacks is dedicated to pursuing equity, justice, and truth in all forms, especially as they relate to the environment and decarbonization. It stands unequivocally with equity-focused movements.

Climate justice is racial justice. We seek to become allies to the Black, Latinx, Asian, mixed-race, and other Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) communities in the most meaningful ways possible.

We will relentlessly pursue the elimination of racism from our infrastructures and systems. This involves taking conscious breaks to refuel, identification of intersectionalist allies, and agency budget evaluation.

We acknowledge that we will make mistakes in the process and that we will address them head-on with appropriate dialogue.

We are committed to learning more in this fight/pursuit.

Our
Data

GreenHacks recognizes the current environment of misinformation in the online community. We will work toward establishing trust in information in evidence-based resources.

Data for resources will be sourced from:
1) Government websites
2) Published journals and articles
3) Personal experience based on training/education
